What is a veneer substrate
Veneable board material is a surface material used for interior decoration or furniture manufacturing, which is both decorative and functional. The following are common types of veneer panels and their characteristics:
1. Classification by veneer material:
- Natural Wood Veneer panel: Made of natural wood sliced, with natural and beautiful texture, each board has different textures, showing a unique natural beauty. Common wood species include teak, walnut, southwest birch, maple, etc., suitable for high-end decoration that pursues natural texture.
- Artificial veneer panel: Simulate the texture of natural wood through scientific and technological means, with straight and regular texture and uniform color. The cost is low, suitable for users with limited budget but want to get the appearance of wood.
2. Classification by finishing process:
- Melamine veneer: Melamine impregnated film paper is used as the finishing material, with various colors, realistic imitation wood grain, stone grain and other effects, and affordable price. Suitable for customized home furnishings, such as cabinets, wardrobes, etc., but the moisture-proof performance is weak.
- PVC coated veneer: It has soft characteristics and is suitable for concave molding, especially for European and American style door panels. It is stain-resistant and easy to clean, but has poor high temperature resistance and is not UV-resistant.
- Wood veneer finish: The Wood Veneer is pasted on the substrate board, with a real texture and natural touch. It is mostly used in high-end products, but it may warp or crack due to environmental influences.
- Paint finish: It is sprayed through multiple processes, with a smooth and delicate surface, rich colors, and easy to clean. But the price is high, and it is afraid of bumps and scratches, and is often used in simple style door panels.
- PET finish: PET film meets food-grade environmental protection standards, does not require painting during the production process, and the formaldehyde content is almost zero. Beautiful and durable, it provides two finishing effects of high gloss and skin feel, with rich colors and small color difference, and the surface is wear-resistant, scratch-resistant, and anti-yellowing.
Easy to clean: The surface of the high-gloss board is smooth, and the skin-feel board is anti-fingerprint, and both are easy to care for.
3. Combination of substrate and finish:
The veneer board is usually composed of substrate and finish. The base material includes multi-layer board, particle board, Osb Board, etc., which provide structural support; the veneer gives the board aesthetics and specific properties. For example, melamine veneer is often combined with particle board or multi-layer board to form an ecological board, which is both beautiful and practical.
